Board Meeting--The next one will be at 5:15 on Tuesday, October 16 in the Town Office Building.  All members are welcome to attend.

 

Gift Baskets for Emergency Services--Geoff reminded members that donations for the gift baskets for the fire, ambulance, police, and sheriff services are due at our meeting next week.  Judging by the sign-ups there will be plenty of donations to make a generous offering for these public servants.

 

Meals on Wheels--Jeff Keimer is coordinating volunteer efforts for Meals on Wheels.  He needs volunteers.  This usually takes only 1-2 hours per week.

 

Rotary Leads--This leadership learning and development seminar will take place from 8:00 to 2:00 on November 10 in Lyndonville.

 

Honor Flight--A week from Friday Ron Hadley will be escorted by Liam to Washington, DC, to be honored from his World War I service.  The Honor Flight program is being expanded to veterans from other conflicts, according to Liam.

 

CACo--the Charitable Assessment Committee is forming.  Let Kathy know if you are interested in participating.

 

 

Karl--Kevin and Logan helped retain the trophy for service clubs at the recent Henry Leach golf tournament.  This year there actually was another service club involved.  Also, his granddaughter recently won a high school golf tournament.

Max--Welcome to our guests.  He hopes they will decide to join.

Maureen--some of her favorite women are among the guests today.

Ron--His wife recently celebrated her 95th birthday.  Their daughter from North Carolina visited to help them clean out their old condo.

Spence--pleased to have Mary Cullinane as his guest.

Scott--welcome to all of today's guests.

Eric--pleased that the Red Sox survived.  Welcome to Richard Fox.

Ben--Selena won the Ripton Ridge Run.  Now Evie wants to be a runner.  Ben is going to run along with her.

Kathy--Thanks to Ben and Buzz for taking over the tent raising program this year.

Neil--Enjoying having breakfast without Kevin.  (!)  More seriously, Kevin spent hours on his own finishing the bus stop at HOPE.

Jeffrey Rink--the opera, Elixir of Love, will be opening at Town Hall Theater tonight.  Jeffrey is the conductor.  Also, his daughter says she is safe in Florida in the face of Hurricane Michael.

 

 

Eric introduced Richard Fox, incoming (in two years) District Governor, who is from the Shelburne-Charlotte-Hinesburg Rotary.  Richard talked about the synergy of Rotary, helping him have an impact in multiple areas because of his participation in Rotary.  And the program to eradicate polio has a worldwide impact.
