  • Lyn was happy to have a heated garage
  • Mike was happy to finally have winter and Michigan won (Alex seconded) 
  • Rebecca gave a monetary amount that matched her age for her January Birthday
  • Bill thanked Ben for leading the 4 way test in the morning (it helps keep everyone on track) 
  • Sylvie was excited to announce the she is expecting Baby Morrison for July 2024
  • Jack thanked Kevin and Ben for bringing over a generator before he ran out of electricity
  • John congratulated Sylvie and reminded folks to put money in the Polio Jar 
  • Maureen congratulated Sylvie and thanked Eric for helping with ACHHH carpet project even though that is not his job anymore. Maureen also announced that the Medicine Chest will be moving from Marble Works to Exchange Street (VT Coffee Company) in early February
  • Liz M was excited to announce that she is joining the Champlain Valley Realtors Group
  • Heather is excited to have Liz M on board and excited to have Sem join the family
  • Nancy is excited to have Liz M on board and several others so maybe she can retire someday and she is excited to have Sem as her grandson
  • Eric had a dollar for John, Sylvie, Rebecca, Sem and Eric will be going to Massachusetts for PETS training 
  • Jason S was happy to have the Buccaneers beat the Eagles
Announcement:
  • Heather: Finances
    • We are halfway through the year and we are on target for the year. 
    • Dues are coming in strong and the next quarter payments are due if you are doing it in installments 
  • John: Merry Mulch 
    • Thank you to everyone who helped and for Denis who organized the event
  • Paul: Membership
    • Paul discussed the membership training that took place a few weeks ago and is looking for ways to improve membership and attrition rate. Our current net growth is about -3.9% (we lose about 4-5 members a year)
    • Ideas: 
      • Look folks up on the yellow pages and reach out to businesses 
      • Dues could be impacting folks 
      • Engage people in service projects (develop a project calendar)
      • Engagement: Everyone has to greet everyone during morning meetings or sit at different tables 
    • There is also a membership manual that comes with an action plan and reward for bringing on more people.
    • There was also a comment to try and encourage more women to join!
    • The Membership Committee will meet and have another discussion with the larger group at the next club assembly

  • Liz M - Thanked Heather and Larry for being Sem’s host parents. Liz is starting to think about next year and brining another host student. 
  • Jason L - Service Projects
    • Projects in the Spring (Addison Housing Works - Bristol &  Trail Project). More information to come as we get closer and keep an eye out for Jason’s emails 
  • Jason S: Speech Contest 
    • The Speech Contest will take place on January 24th and Jason is looking for 4-5 volunteer judges. 
    • Keep an eye out for District Grant meetings. We need at least one representative to attend in order to apply to a District Grant for next year. 
  • Geoff: Service Projects 
    • Window Dressers: Geoff is proposing to do this again in the Fall and looking for interest in hosting this as a service project by raising funds and coordinating with the Bristol and New Haven Crews. (This would not be a District Grant project - just a local service project)
    • HOPE: The next food bag project will be on Thursday, February 15th before Winter break. More information to come. (Geoff is getting surgery and will need help with this project)
