Liz Marino is headed off to Northeast PELS to train to become our next President. She will be joined by Eric Denu.

Caitlyn is the Executive Director of the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival, replacing our friend Lloyd Komesar.

 

The festival is in its 11th year having started in 2014. 

 

Caitlin is joined in the organization by the Creative Director Jay Craven, who has the final say on which films are included.

 

The Festival supports Independent Filmmakers and accepts 1st and 2nd films. It also celebrates Vermont culture.

 

This year submissions are up 40% over last year's 600. 

 

There is a paid committee of 8 Industry Selectors who winnow down the entries to a couple hundred that Jay chooses from. 

 

There is a Board of 12 that Lloyd is now a part of.

 

Caitlin has a Documentary background which are generally supported by Philanthropy. Longer Features need to raise upwards of a Million Dollars especially if they are Fiction. 

 

This year there will be the start of a Mentorship Program that she is particularly excited about. matching up new Filmmakers  with Veterans.

 

The Festival is supported by Sponsors, Donations and Ticket sales.
