• The meeting follows the usual agenda with small add-ons: a video (which may or may not work) and a shift from classification talks to
“life stories.”
• A member gives a long personal/professional history, including education, career in public service, family life, and community involvement.
• Focus on membership growth, especially a companion club: seven new members plus a transfer (Amanda Vincent) and a potential
tenth member (Robbie Field). Liz is the companion club liaison; a companion club mentor role is discussed.
• Details on the membership process per bylaws: names and applications circulated; seven-day comment window; objections trigger reconsideration; otherwise, new members become active next Monday.
• The budget introduces pay-as-you-go breakfast: regular dues are $400; companion club and Rule of 85 dues are $275; breakfast and other events are priced separately. Breakfast can be ordered off a regular menu or via a continental buffet on group days; no more baked-in breakfast costs.
• The club counts: about 40 regular members; 11 at the Rule of 85/companion club rate; 7 companion club members; the 39-to-40
member status reflects a recent departure (Gary S) and ongoing recruitment.
• Budget review process and adoption: the budget was prepared with the treasurer and finance committee, reviewed by the board, and
then approved after a motion (T Tall) and a second (Jack seconded); final vote: all in favor.
The meeting advances several evolving initiatives: adopting a life-story format, integrating a companion club with a defined
onboarding and dues structure, and implementing a pay-as-you-go breakfast policy. It also solidifies plans for the centennial celebration and related fundraising, while confirming membership targets and a budget
framework. The budget was officially adopted after discussion and consent, setting the stage for a year of revised logistics, expanded service, and continued community impact.
