Jason L. announced that the Fall Golf Outing will be Thursday, October 23rd at Ralph Meyer. We need at least 18 foursomes to run the tournament.

John M. took a cruise to Greenland and the Arctic; Nancy is Moving this Month!; Paul cruised to the Greek Isles; Max happy to have Maya joining us; Liz S. for Jim Douglas; Bill C took a cruise to France and came home with a cold; Geoff and Maureen vacationed on the Cape and Vineyard.
Ben announced that there will be a Salisbury Fire Department Fundraising event on October 12 at Foster Brothers Farm. He said it will be a fun event and urged us all to attend.

We are piling up debt - both sides and haven't passed a balanced budget since Bill Clinton
Mentioned that UVM and Middlebuty both have new Presidents being Installed. He did get a free lunch at UVM which was nice.
The Governor talked about Housing and the fact that we need 7-8,000 new units per year and are maybe getting 2 or 3,000.
20 years ago when he was Governor, there were 4 things that mattered, Affordability, Taxes, Housing and Healthcare. Nothing has changed in that respect.
Healthcare: UVM is made up of 5 Hospiatals and has a bloated Administration.. New President is Dr. Loeffler who is being promoted from within, saving some salary expense.
The Governor started and is part of VT Healthcare 911 which is advising the parties on controlling costs (VHC911.org)
The reasons that Healtcare is so expensive is that VT is the 2nd Oldest State after Maine and has the Lowest Birthrate in its History.
We must attract younger residents to survive in this climate.
