In addition to looking for teams, CSAC is looking for volunteers to help with this year’s tournament. They have openings across most roles, but still have big needs to fill around the following “lifting” type of jobs:
- Friday afternoon set up (3:30-6pm ish at 109 Catamount Park and over to Midd Rec field)
- Sat early am set up (6am start)
- Sat clean up (12 noon -around 3pm starting at Rec field and moving to 109 catamount park. Lots of lifting). We really need fresh people here….it’s best if folks haven’t been playing all morning, as it’s a very physical task.

LuAnn's Role: Director of youth and family services, advocating for community involvement and support for vulnerable youth.
LuAnn discussed the vital role of community support in youth and family services provided by CSAC. She highlights the challenges faced by children and families due to the aftermath of
COVID-19, the influence of social media, and the need for robust community partnerships to foster resilience and mental wellness among youth.
LuAnn's Highlights -
1. Youth and Family Services: Overview of services provided to children aged 3 to 22, emphasizing flexibility and responsiveness to community needs.
• Mobile Crisis Services: Introduction of a new service model that offers rapid response to families in crisis, providing support directly
at home or schools.
• Parent and Community Engagement: Emphasis on the role of community and parents in fostering healthy development and resilience in children.
LuAnn stressed that the well-being of children relies significantly on engaged adults and community connections, countering feelings of isolation that have become pronounced in
recent years.
• Diversity of Programs: Examples of unique offerings such as Dungeons and Dragons, outdoor activities, and the summer forest program which involve older children in community service.
2. Impact of COVID-19: Recognition that many children are experiencing increased anxiety and depression linked to their experiences during the pandemic.
3. Therapeutic Programs: Description of various programs, including:
• Traditional therapy
• Family outreach services
• Horse therapy programs
• Adventure-based programs for social skills development.
4. Trauma and Resiliency: Discussion on the concept of trauma, the stress experienced by kids, and the importance of building resilience through community support.
In conclusion, LuAnn revealed a pressing need for community engagement in supporting youth mental health and resilience. The ongoing effects of COVID-19 have exacerbated issues of anxiety and depression among children, highlighting the importance of responsive and flexible support services.
