LIFE EVENTS
Jim Needham is celebrating a birthday. John Metcalfe has been a member of Rotary for one year, Jason Schnoor for eleven.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Friendship Exchange--Nancy thanked all the families who had hosted visitors from England during our recent Friendship Exchange, as well as Rotarians who had helped with driving. She gave special thanks to Scott for the meal he put on for hosts, guests, and drivers, and to Lyn for helping with the planning and coordination. She forgot to thank herself. For anyone interested, there will be a Rotary Friendship Exchange this fall to Calgary for the Stampede.
Gift Baskets--Geoff announced that today was the day to assemble gift baskets for the volunteers and staff of the Fire, Police, and Sheriff's Departments, Porter Hospital, the State Police, and MREMS. The generosity of members means the gift baskets will be very full.
District Leaders' Conference--Coming up on Saturday, November 10, in Lyndonville.
Polio Eradication Day--will be next Wednesday.
Club Assembly--Next week will be a club assembly, and we will hear reports from committee chairs. We will also discuss possible grant projects for next year. The application for funding is due in April.
Paul Harris Dinner--November 14 at the Waybury Inn. Awards will be given to Paul Harris Fellows. There will be no regular meeting that morning.
Bus Shelter Dedication--The press will be present when the bus shelter at HOPE is dedicated, 10:00 am on November 14.
