Guest Speaker – Tom Plumb (Hands to Honduras)
  • "T" reintroduced Tom Plumb to the club, speaking about how they met at Middlebury College, and then Tom's work for ACCAG (now HOPE). Tom later thanked "T" for sponsoring his proposed membership to the club back in 1994. Tom is one of a select group of recipients who has earned Rotary International's Service Above Self Award.
  • Tom spoke about what led to his first Honduras trip back in 1999--thinking it would be an opportunity to travel with Governor Howard Dean when, in fact, it was a trip with the District governor instead!
  • Tom then became hooked on the Honduras service projects and retired at age 48 to serve full-time on these endeavors.
  • Tom mentioned how Rotary offers district disaster grants up to $25K, and offered to help with any grant application for a project such as a water filtration grant.
  • Tom then showed a 24th anniversary slideshow dated May 12, 2022 that detailed a myriad of service projects connected to the construction of schools, kindergartens, water and filtration systems, and other vital infrastructure down in Honduras. Tom thanked our club for its past and ongoing support.
