The meeting began with a video of Ron Hadley's Honor Guard trip to Washington.  Liam accompanied him.

 

 

Paul Harris Dinner--Chris Hanfield is our newest Paul Harris Fellow.  Also recognized were Buzz Kernan, Tim Hollander, and Eric Denu.  Eric and his team did a great job organizing and conducting the event.

 

HOPE Food Boxes--The Thanksgiving project went well.  Maureen says they may need help with a similar project at Christmas.

 

Holiday Party--Nancy Foster will be hosting a party for Rotarians and their guests at her home in Weybridge (801 James Road) at 5:30 pm on Thursday, December 13.  Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served--anyone who wants to contribute food should let Nancy know.  She needs a few volunteers for the event.  Parking is tricky--carpooling is recommended.

 

Community Dinner--Rotary is in charge next Friday, December 7 at the Congregational Church.  This will also be our night to provide presents.  Each Rotarian is asked to supply around 5 items (new only), mostly for men.  Bring them wrapped up to next week's meeting, marked as to boy/girl/man/woman, size if necessary.  You can also drop items off at the church starting at noon on December 7, or at Beau Ties before then.  Volunteers needed for set up, serving, and clean-up.

 

Special fifth Wednesday Gathering--Liz thanked Terry for organizing and paying for an unofficial Rotary meeting last Wednesday at Middlebury Bagel and Deli, which was the fifth Wednesday of November, not a normal meeting day.  More than a dozen Rotarians showed up.

 

Merry Mulch--Dennis Poole is coordinating this annual event, based at Casella's.  Meet there at 8:15 am on Saturday, January 5.

 

HOPE Bus Shelter--Geoff reported that the dedication of the bus shelter at HOPE came off nicely in bitter cold weather.  Watch for a publicity picture in a forthcoming newspaper.

 

 

Maureen--move to new home in Middlebury has been completed.  Lots of Rotarians involved.

 

Scott--Great video of Ron's special day.  Both men and women's hockey teams started off the seasons with wins.  The games this weekend will benefit the United Way.

 

Eric--Very successful Paul Harris Dinner.  Remember to give to the Foundation this month.

 

Liz--Looking forward to the community supper.

 

Nancy--Celebrated Thanksgiving with the entire family in North Carolina.

 

Ron--Thanks for showing the video, and thanks to those who transport him to meetings.

 

T--had an international Thanksgiving celebration, and they pressed fresh cider.

 

Juddy--hosted Thanksgiving at their new house, with 17 people in attendance.

 

Lyn--Went to Long Island to visit a niece, then visited Radio City in NYC.

 

 

T Tall introduced Hannah Sessions, who showed a video of her farm and her artwork.  She described how the farm got started, the process of making and marketing goat cheese, and how she creates artwork based on her rural farm life.
