Announcements -
The Charlotte/Hinesburg club is looking for a couple additional Rotarians to add to their Dragon Boat Race team.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday July 30th @ 5:30pm at Branbury State Park. This potluck social will be held "rain or shine" since Liz has rented the pavilion and we will be under cover if the weather is not good. Maureen and Ben will bring bocce ball sets so we can practice for the tournament.
Budget for review:
It was moved and seconded to approve the 2025-26 proposed budget. Liz asked for questions. There were a couple including one about the process for carrying over funds for our 100th Anniversary. The budget was unanimously approved.
Rebecca said she needs additional information for our web site. She needs the winners of this year's golf tournament, and this year's recipients of the CACO grants. She also asked who is in charge of Youth Exchange this year. It is Jason Schnoor.
Ben Fuller asked for Happy Dollars:
Jason Laroque had an angry $ for the hacking of the Middlebury Town website, and a happy $ because 9 people responded to his email asking for help for the Charter House dinner last week!
Maureen and John Barstow both had happy $. Liz had a happy 5$ for her family. Fran had a happy 5$ for NOT being fined for being Late. Eric, Paul, and Ben had happy $s.
Rebecca had a happy $ for her Dad's band playing their 1000th gig at the Waybury. She is also happy that it is her daughter is turning 13 and she is taking 2 weeks off from work and the 2 of them are taking a road trip to California.
Speaker - Helena Van Voorst
Helena has been the Executive director of Addison County Unites Way for the past 7 years. She started her presentation with her history and her brief relationship with Rotary. She had an excellent slide presentation which started with an introduction of all the employees and their roles in United Way. She explained the programs that United Way funds, as well as the changes they have made in how they allocate their funds. They now do 3-year grants and they are currently giving funds to 38 organizations, as well as running their own programs. They received 2 large Federal grants in recent years and hope to renew them
