PROGRAM:
Betsy- Very pleased to be at Eastview today for a special occasion. The Middlebury Rotary Club today will honor Ronald Hadley with an Honorary Membership for his many years of Service Above Self in Rotary. Ron joined Rotary March 7,1973.
A number of speakers highlighted what Ron has meant to them, the club, his family, and his country.
Eric-Ron truly epitomizes Service Above Self. He has been a mentor and a friend. Ron reaches out to all and is always welcoming. Eric read a letter from District Governor Richard Fox thanking him for his continual support and his enthusiasm and commitment to Rotary.
“T”- Recalled history of his membership with Ron dating back 40 years. Among many programs Ron has been involved with was Group Study Exchange.
Liam-Highlighted Ron’s Navy connection and number of seaborne invasions during WWII including Normandy, Iwo Jima and Okinawa
Karl-Reflected on getting to know Ron better during his time picking up Ron for our meetings.
Enjoying their connection of the military and love of Country.
Kevin- Thanks to Ron for his friendship, service to the club, our Country and his family.
Liz-Expressed her friendship with Ron, his family values and his service to our community and our Country. Ron has been known to many as “Lucky Hadley” for his winning ways of raffles and drawings. We as the Club, have been the lucky ones.
Nancy-Thanked Ron for his fellowship, for welcoming women to the club and engaging all to be better members.Truly a member of the Greatest Generation.
Betsy ended by thanking Eastview for hosting us today. Middlebury Legion Post 27 for presenting the Colors and congratulated Ronald Hadley on becoming an Honorary Member.
Thanks to all who spoke and helped with the presentation today.
