LIFE MILESTONES

Chris Hanford has reached his ninth anniversary as a Rotary Member.  Ben Fuller has been a member six years.  Neil and T are both at the 30 year mark.

Juddy Hescock reluctantly admitted that his 30th birthday is about now.  He was rewarded with a horrendous rendition of the birthday song.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

No meeting next week, as it is the fifth Wednesday of the month.  Geoff is thinking of hosting a cocktail party to replace the meeting.  He will put out an email announcement if he decides to go ahead.

The speech contest is scheduled for February 27.  Liz thanks Ben for locating three potential contestants.

CSAC ran a bocce contest as a fundraiser for several years but gave it up recently.  Betsy is investigating whether this might be a possible fundraising opportunity for Rotary.  She will be looking for volunteers to brainstorm the possibilities.

HAPPY DOLLARS

Ron--Both T and Max showed up to offer him a ride this morning.  He's glad Max has recovered from pneumonia.
Liz--Thanks to Ben for help with the speech contest.  She's relearning the skills of parenting, helping with a psychology paper.
Maureen--Thanks to Scott for arranging fundraising at hockey games for Home Health and Hospice, resulting in revenue of $1,468.
Scott--great hockey over the weekend.  Also, welcome to Brian and Troy.
Chris--$9.00 for nine years of Rotary.

PRESENTATION:

Scott introduced Brian Carpenter, owner of Champlain Valley Equipment Company and Chair of the Middlebury Selectboard.  Brian gave a thorough overview of the work of the selectboard, how it sets its priorities, and some of the challenges facing the town.
