Middlebury Rotary's 100th birthday celebration planning continues. There has been talk about supporting a public restroom project but the club "has not" committed to the purchase of a facility at this time.
Board of Directors Meeting - 7:30 am, United Way office on Wilson Road
New England PETS (President Elect Training) will be held this weekend in New Hampshire, John Barstow will be attending.
Former member Lee Atkins was given honorable mention for his charitable work and involvement in the club.
Nancy Foster (chair of the Nomination Committee) gave a report that the officer slate for the coming year was set and ready to be voted on.

Liz- Int’l Womens’ Day-she feels proud and lucky to be a member of this group and is happy that young women are joining. Encourages us to attend meetings in other areas when traveling. Thanks to Rebecca for great slide presentation, happy about the speech contest

T-Has been a member for 43 years and has attended 50 meetings/year for each one of those years=2,000 meetings
The 96th bday party was the best meeting ever
Todays meeting was a club assembly aimed at a better look behind the scenes at what makes our club run effectively and efficiently-
Nancy gave an update on the annual flag project which is one of the clubs major fundraisers consisting of placement of American flags around town on 5 different holidays. Trucks are always in need to assist and the project raises around $18,000 each year
Geoff reviewed the clubs financial statements for the two accounts, 501.C3 account for charitable giving, 501.C4 account for club administration and operation. Both accounts are in good shape. Major fundraisers include the gold tournament, flags, auction and sponsorship program
David works on club administration posting/updating the Clubrunner site and made mention of the great level of volunteerism within the club and how individual members often bring initiatives needing help such;

Liz spoke about the speech contest, how great it was to have 11 members representing our club at the recent round in Vergennes, how inspirational these young people are and put in a plug for the next round on April 1st in Lyndonville
Ben said his job as Sargent at Arms was to shake people down for money
Rebecca works on club administration along with David updating the website and adding content such as photos, calendar events, project notes and believes that Rotary is the "Lifeblood" of our community
Buzz gave a rundown of international youth exchange talking about how the program is actually run by the Department of State at the federal level and how all local members involved in the specific details of exchanges need to be vetted through a criminal background check and DOS training requirements.
John Barstow ended the talk with a mention of his upcoming term as president the work that he is currently doing on searching for District Grant ideas and his emphasis on membership recruitment and retention
