The Nilssons are celebrating an anniversary.

 

 

Auction--88 items so far, worth $7,000.  One more Wednesday to bring in donations. Auction begins May 3. 

 

International Exchange--It is now confirmed that we will have an inbound exchange student from Columbia.  Buzz needs a host family before he can complete the necessary paperwork.

 

CACo--The committee has begun its deliberations.  They will  hold their next meeting on Monday at the Rotary Room in the Town Offices.

 

Green Up Day--Dustin will be circulating a sign-up sheet for Green Up Day, which is May 4.   He will put out information as to when and where he needs helpers.

 

Flag Project--Juddy and several volunteers will be stuffing invoice envelopes at Juddy's office at 5:15 on Thursday.

 

Community Service Awards--Liz announced that the deadline for submitting names for the two community service awards is Friday. 

 

Tents--If you are interested in helping with setting up our tents over the summer please let Kathy Nilsson <ktnilsson59@gmail.com> know.

 

 

The slate of officers for next year was placed in nomination.  There being no other nominations a motion was made to elect the entire slate as presented:  President, Betsy McCarthy; President Elect, Maureen Conrad; Vice President, Bill Kernan; Secretary, Jim Needham; Treasurer, Geoff Conrad.  The motion passed on a voice vote.

 

 

Ed McCallum from the Boy Scouts presented the Henry Leach Golf Tournament trophy to Middlebury Rotary.  It's a traveling trophy, but it has spent most of its life in the hands of our club.  The tournament was losing some steam, and Neil Mackey helped move it to the Middlebury College golf course.  It grew from four to eleven foursomes, with our foursome of Kevin, Karl, Logan, and Ben coming out on top by two strokes.  The money raised goes to support Boy Scout camperships.  This year's tournament will be in late September.

 

 

Liz--$10 to celebrate the new owners of Beau Ties, who have pledged to maintain a Middlebury presence.

Nancy--recovering from a visit with her 12 year old twin grandsons.  Also has messages from our Lacrosse team, which is having a great learning experience in Panama.

Spence--riding his bike again, but watch out for ticks.

Eric--congratulations and thanks to our new slate of officers.  Also, the district has a new Rotaract club, and there have been positive governance changes at the district level.

Betsy--she and her mother have items in a Friday art reception at the Middlebury Studio School, 5-7 pm, Rte. 7 South.

Bill Brooks--back from a trip in Europe.  Also celebrating the Middlebury Studio School, and the elephant statue by Eben Markowski at the town offices.

Scott--welcome to Darcy Tarte.  We plan to have three member inductions on May 15th.  Gala Dinner on June 14.

Jack--selling tickets to the Fire Department ham dinner at the Waybury Inn on May 7, all you can eat, $15.

Kathy--to her husband on their anniversary.

Ron--for his daughter, visiting on the way to a cruise.

Stephen--thanks to David for taking him to a leadership conference in Lyndon.  Back safely from a trip to Ohio.

T--Habitat is about to break ground for two new houses on Seymour Street.

Ron--thanks to Max for bringing him to meetings.

 

Rex introduced Mike Mazzella, who spoke about the arena football club that he is helping to launch in Middlebury, the Vermont Brew.  They will play in Memorial Sports Center starting next March for a four month season.  As marketing manager he is looking for sponsors and help getting the word out.
