Llyod Komesar, Producer of Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival gave thanks for our sponsorship and that of many members of the club. The Festival runs from Aug. 22-Aug. 25. The festival is completely dedicated to the work of first and second time filmmakers of any age.
PROGRAM:
Nancy introduced John Roberts from the Vermont Dept. of Agriculture.John is a Small Farm Water Quality Specialist with the department. He inspects farms with 200 cows or less for compliance with Vermont's agricultural environmental rules and assists farmers with access to avenues for technical and financial assistance. Works with farms to reduce the impact of agricultural activities to water quality. Intent is to improve the quality of water by reducing and eliminating erosion and nutrient losses through improved farm practices. New technologies and techniques for cover crops are being developed.
