Max reported that  Ron Hadley is doing better. We hope to have a meeting at Eastview soon.

 

Betsy reminded us of an email she sent about Rise and Walk Tuesdays. Every Tuesday between now and October, members of Porter Medical community will be leading walks through town to discuss topics of medical care and prevention. Meet at Mary Hogan Rec. area at 5:15pm.

Betsy also announced tha Lacrosse Across the Nation wants to report on their activities in August. Eric will confirm a date.

 

Juddy presented Dustin Hunt with “Rookie of the Year” award for his involvement and leadership in his first year of Rotary. This award was held over from Changeover meeting.

 

Geoff announced that automatic payments of club dues can be arranged through National Bank of Middlebury if you have an account there and also through Bill Pay. See Geoff with questions.

 

David Clark presented Juddy with a collection of photos from his year as president documenting service projects, social events and other activities.

 

Saturday 7/27 at 6:05 PM is Rotary night at Vermont Lake Monsters baseball game in Burlington.

John Barstow-Happy to have his first great niece visit

Evie- explained how she lost her latest tooth

 

Rex-happy that flags got taken down in Cannon Park earlier than he planned. Also for tent being taken down and set up again at two differents events last week.

 

Kathy-Yankees are still in first place

 

David-Congratulations to Judson on his year as president and to Betsy for this year

 

Dustin- happy that his son’s baseball team will be competing in State Championship this weekend

 

Cari-  celebrating Eastview staff and staff families using our tent. Thanks!

 

Karl-Happy to report he has had good blood tests since May 1st !

PROGRAM:

 

2019-2020 Budget was presented to and approved by the club. Betsy reviewed line items on Club account and the service accounts. Dues will be up to $560 per year as we voted to return to full breakfasts.

Foundation account will be increased by $1000. As we allocate $25. in their honor,to each speaker, to the Foundation.

 

Ben Fuller gave us a refresher on one of our avenues of service: Youth Services.

Youth Services recognizes the importance of impowering youth and young professionals through leadership development programs including :

Interact Club-high school age youth 

Early Act Club-elementary aged youth

Rotaract Club- college age youth

Youth exchange program

RYLA- Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

Speech Contest

 

Kathy Nilsson brought to our attention a possible service project that their is a need for in our community. Coats For Kids which would provide new or used coats, boots and other clothing for kids in need. More discussion will follow.
