LIFE EVENTS:
 
Maureen Conrad and Bill Nilsson are celebrating birthdays.  Nancy Foster is celebrating her 51st anniversary, Jason Schnoor his 15th, and Ben Fuller his 11th.
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
 
Parade--Ben thanked the volunteers who helped decorate the float and marched with or on it.  We had some help from young people, and it was a joint effort with Cabot.  800 flags were handed out.  Ron Hadley rode shotgun with Eric.  Rotarians also staffed two tents and helped Cabot hand out cheese. 
 
Gala Dinner--Reservations need to be turned in to Scott by June 7.  He needs some volunteers to help with the afternoon event, and with spreading the word.  This is the event at which we hand out all of the CACo awards.  Scott still has invitations available.
 
HAPPY DOLLARS:
 
Nancy--For her grandson Ruben, who helped with the flag project.  Granddaughter Cassandra has graduated from college.  Grandson Aiden has created a new log for End of Life Services.
Juddy--recognizing Nancy and Buzz for their work on the flag project.  Buzz has secured 14 flags to be sponsored by the town.
T--his foreign student from Shanghai has graduated. 
Maureen--Geoff is flying to Colorado to pick up a car for her.
Scott--for work by Ben, Buzz, and Troy to celebrate Cabot's 100th.  Welcome to John and Mike.
Rex--back from visiting grandchildren in Ottawa, and for the team that set up flags in Cannon Park.
Spence--all the trees in our 2018 project a the Rec Park have survived.  Also, the gardening group has secured a second job.
Neil--Middlebury Lacrosse has won a national championship.
Buzz--has found two families to host our exchange student.  Also, a plaque for the tree project is almost ready.  We'll have a ribbon cutting soon.
Liz--Thanks to those who marked flag sleeves in advance.
David--Helmut marked all the sleeves in Court Square.
Ben--Earlyact has established a garden at the Salisbury School.
Eric--for Ron at the 75th anniversary of the Normandy Landing.  Eric is off to Hamburg for the International Conference.
Steve--for the new pavement in the parking lot.
Kathy--for Bill's birthday.
 
PRESENTATION OF FREEMAN AWARD:
 
Eric gave a short explanation of the meaning of the Freeman Award, including a recap of the life and service of Stephen Freeman, Rotarian for nearly 60 years.  T then introduced Mickey Heinecken, this year's recipient of the award.  Mickey has been a teacher, coach, and active participant in community organizations for many years.  In retirement he joined Habitat for Humanity and led the organization as president for many years.  Mickey made a very gracious acceptance speech.
