Each year the Middlebury club participates in Rotary District 7850’s District Speech Contest. The purpose of the speech contest is “…to give youth a venue to share their ideas on life issues and experiences while offering suggestions of how Rotarian could improve their school and community.”
Four students from Middlebury Union High School participated in Round 1 on February 18.
At the breakfast meeting were: Jason, chair of international service and RYLA, Tristan, Taryn, Judah, Vicky, and Liz, club president.
Taryn won Round 1 and will participate in Round 2 March 10 at the Rotary Club of Vergennes at Strong House Inn at 7:45 am.
