It's been a full and fun summer for Middlebury Rotary club!
First off, we want to welcome Fred as our club President for the 2026-2027 year, and Ariel from the Waterbury club as our District Governor.
To kick off the summer, our speech contest winner, Taryn, made it all the way to the District level and competed against other students in Magog, Canada. She took home scholarship funds and the admiration of our club.
Ariel came to visit our club in July. As her first act of District Governor, and with the assistance of Middlebury Rotarians, we planted Milkweed at the Helen Porter Rehabilitation and Nursing facility. We were joined by members of the Pollinator Pathway of Addison County, who helped with the planting and added plant starts to the seeds that were sown. The Club is extremely grateful to the staff of Helen
Porter and the Pollinator Pathway of Addison County for their assistance. Next spring the residents will have a garden full of butterflies and other pollinators and the Monarch Butterflies will have more milkweed plants available, which are critical to their reproduction cycle.

Finally, members of our club joined the much-anticipated "book parade" last Thursday to help Ilsley Library staff move books from their mini library to the finished building, which will be opening in September.
